Materials, Planning & Logistics Analyst
Unisia Steering Systems, Inc., Oakwood, Georgia, is seeking a qualified team oriented individual to fill the position of Materials, Planning & Logistics Analyst. The ideal candidate must have a BS in business or a related field, previous experience in production control, experience in related manufacturing support using and managing an ERP system, and knowledge of CTPAT, Duty drawbacks, Audit Importation classifications and revisions thereof, and U. S. Customs regulations.
Responsibilities will include:
- Create, monitor and revise all assigned manufacturing production lines as needed to assure that customer demands are met.
- Offer support 24 hours a day to manufacturing production lines for all scheduled shifts beyond their normal working hours, including weekends.
- Maintain proper production levels based on current or forecasted demand.
- Prepare and submit monthly Production schedule forecast to senior level management.
- Schedule after production (service parts) into current production schedules to avoid unnecessary changeovers and late deliveries to customers.
- Schedule prototype parts into production schedules to assure that proper lead time and QA approvals are accomplished.
- Schedule Work in Process (WIP) according to Master Production Schedule (MPS) demands.
- Effectively manage the MPS and its exception reports on a weekly/daily basis.
- Notify senior level management of any possibility of machine shut-down situations that may affect customer deliveries.
- Schedule and lead the Daily Operations Meeting (Pump and/or Gear).
- Responsible for creating all work orders for non-daily activities on production lines.
- Assist in the recommendation of site’s planned shut-downs for Physical Inventory and or Holiday purposes.
- Monitor finished-goods and raw inventory levels established by Logistics Materials Manager, based on yearly operational goals.
- Assure that all Materials Resource Planning data is properly loaded and executed according to monthly and bi-weekly regenerations.
- Expedite and track all inventories needed for production schedules according to MPS.
- Responsible for the planning, transmission, delivery and confirmation of all assigned contract orders.
- Responsible for supplier’s delivery reports (Scorecard for Purchasing).
- Extensive interaction with Engineering, QA and Maintenance Departments on the day to day production schedule activities.
- Develop most efficient ways for foreign and domestic freight, which includes ocean, air and land.
- Develop and monitor routing guidelines for local traffic (inbound & outbound).
- Apply knowledge of: CTPAT (Custom’s Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), Duty drawbacks, Audit Importation classifications (HTSUS-Harmonize tariff schedule of US) and revisions thereof; U.S. Customs regulations.
- Expedite and cooperate on classification hold, cargo hold, and steam ship line hold.
- Create and maintain month end or daily reports such as; Safety Stock vs. On Hand; Early Deliveries; Logistics Scorecard; Daily Shortage Report; Critical Parts Analysis; 3 Month Rolling Production Forecast; Shiprod; Daily Production Schedule.
- Support and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards (QMS, SHEMS, 6S, TS, Q1, etc.) through compliance, improvement, and preventative measures.
